On March 17, the 2024 National Indoor Track and Field Grand Prix (4th Station), hosted by the Chinese Athletics Association, concluded in Nanjing, where WHSU students achieved outstanding results.
In the final of the men’s 4×400 meters relay, Zou Jing and Dong Jinze, students who were admitted to the School of Sports Training in 2020 and 2022 respectively, defeated strong opponents from Guangxi and Zhejiang teams and clinched the championship on behalf of the Hubei team with 3 minutes and 14.51 seconds. In the final of the women’s 4×400 meters relay, Xue Mengqi and Lei Yuling, students who were admitted to the School of Sports Training in 2020 and 2022 respectively, secured the fourth place.

It is reported that as a national Class II event recognized by the Chinese Athletics Association, the 2024 National Indoor Track and Field Grand Prix consists of four stations, the first three of which were held in Sichuan, Shaanxi and Shandong respectively, with the Nanjing station being the last leg of the event. A total of around 1,000 athletes from related colleges and universities and industrial sports associations of 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government have signed up to participate in the event, including a number of famous athletes such as Wu Yanni and Xia Sining.
