At 21:40 Beijing time on July 23, the mixed synchronized 10m platform diving final at the 32nd World University Games (Summer) concluded in Germany’s Rhine-Ruhr region with outstanding performance.Zheng Junzhi, a 2023 undergraduate from the School of Sports Training at Wuhan Sports University (WHSU), teamed up with Wang Weiying to claim the university’s third gold medal of the competition, posting an impressive total score of 341.94 points.

Their flawless execution–from powerful takeoffs to perfectly synchronized entries– demonstrated both athletic strength and artistic precision, making their “ripple-free” entries look effortless. Their five-dive sequence (52.80, 50.40, 72.96, 85.14, and 80.64 points) secured a commanding victory with a massive 50.58-point advantage over the second-place finishers.

This marked Zheng’s final event of the Universiade. “The rigorous training gave me tremendous confidence,” he said. “My partner is exceptionally talented—our trust and coordination made this victory possible. This being my first international competition, I’m motivated to make even greater achievements.” Notably, Zheng achieved a perfect golden sweep in all three of his events.
