At 21:20 Beijing time on July 20, Zheng Junzhi, a 2023 undergraduate from the School of Sports Training at Wuhan Sports University (WHSU), teamed up with Mo Yonghua to clinch gold in the men’s synchronized platform diving final at the 32nd World University Games (Summer). The duo dominated the competition with a total score of 437.31. This victory marks the second gold medal for WHSU athletes at this year’s Universiade.

From their very first dive—stretching arms, rising on toes, leaping, twisting, and entering the water—Zheng and Mo displayed impeccable synchronization, earning 52.80 points to take an early lead. They maintained their momentum across all six rounds, posting scores of 47.40, 75.84, 89.76, 81.60, and 89.91 to secure China’s fifth gold of the Games.

As a debutant on the world stage, Zheng admitted feeling initial nerves but quickly found his rhythm. "Just focus on my part and trust my partner," he remarked. A brilliant achievement by these rising stars of WHSU!

Meanwhile, at 19:35 Beijing time, Qu Zhixin, another 2023 undergraduate from WHSU, topped her group in the women’s 3m springboard preliminaries, advancing to the finals in commanding fashion. Congratulations to Qu Zhixin! We look forward to her stellar performance in the final!
Congratulations to Zheng Junzhi and Mo Yonghua for adding another gold to China's tally! Best wishes to Zheng Junzhi for achieving further glory in the upcoming mixed synchronized platform final!
