From December 14 to17, the "Journey to the Stars and Seas: 2025 Chinese University Street Dance Championships (CUSDC)," hosted by the China Student Sports Federation (CSSF), wrapped up at the Putuo Grand Theater. Contemporary Dance majors from the School of Arts performed exceptionally, distinguishing themselves among close to 1,000 elite street dancers from 68 universities nationwide to win the team grand championship and numerous top honors.
The students showcased refined artistry and compelling stage presence to excel across multiple disciplines. In addition to winning the team grand championship, they claimed titles in the breaking battle, 4v4 crew battle, and breaking crew showcase, while earning runner-up and bronze medal finishes in several additional categories.

As a benchmark event in university street dance nationwide, the championships encompassed two primary divisions—crew showcase and battle—showcasing popular disciplines such as popping, locking, and waacking. School of Arts competitors displayed determination and cohesion throughout competition, confronting nearly 1,000 elite street dancers across multiple contests, cultivating connections through movement, and chronicling their personal journeys of pursuit through dynamic, youthful performances.

The competition achievements validate substantial accomplishments in WHSU's contemporary dance program advancement. The School of Arts has prioritized "double first-class" development through implementing "competition-driven pedagogy and competition-driven student learning," effectively cultivating professional expertise and enhancing performance ability among students.
