The 17th National Dragon and Lion Dance Championships, presented by Guoyuan V3, wrapped up at the Jintan District Gymnasium in Changzhou from December 6 to10. WHSU's dragon dance delegation delivered an impressive performance, securing six gold, one silver, and two bronze medals to dominate both the gold medal tally and overall podium standings.

Our delegation showcased strong fundamentals, perfect teamwork, and reliable execution across seven major competition categories including dragon dance freestyle, prescribed routine, and dragon ribbon freestyle, winning four titles. In speed and obstacle skill disciplines, the team maintained precise pacing and executed movements efficiently to capture two more gold medals. The freestyle competition, centered on "Phoenix and Dragon: Auspice over Chu," displayed fluid movements and imaginative arrangement, scoring 9.13 points. The dragon ribbon freestyle performed with grace and harmony, achieving 9.17 points to extend the winning streak and exemplifying WHSU's considerable capabilities in traditional dragon and lion dance.

The championships featured four categories—dragon dance, southern lion, northern lion, and dragon ribbon—attracting 94 teams from 23 provinces and municipalities across the country with nearly 1,400 athletes competing, establishing it as a premier domestic dragon and lion dance competition.
