On July 19, the diving mixed team final and men's 10m platform final of the 32nd World University Games (Summer) took place in Rhine-Ruhr, Germany. Wuhan Sports University (WHSU) athletes shone brightly, bringing home one gold and one silver medal in these prestigious events.
Zheng Junzhi: Golden Triumph!

In the men's 10m platform final, Zheng Junzhi, a 2023 undergraduate from WHSU School of Sports Training, claimed the gold medal with a total score of 455.10. "I was nervous competing internationally for the first time, but my focus was simply on performing to my capabilities," Zheng revealed after his victory. His dive-by-dive scores told the story of a true competitor: 86.4, 73.6, 52.7, 90.75, and 68.45 in the first five rounds.

Facing a temporary deficit, the composed athlete saved his best for last—an 83.2-point final dive that secured gold ahead of teammate Mo Yonghua. "Even after a mid-competition mistake, I quickly refocused," Zheng explained. "My mindset was simple: one dive at a time, perfect execution every time." Congratulations to Zheng Junzhi!
Qu Zhixin: Silver Success!

In the diving mixed team final, the Chinese team consisting of Qu Zhixin (a 2023 undergraduate from WHSU), Mo Zhengxiong, He Yanwei, and Mo Yonghua won the silver medal with 429.10 points. Brilliant performance by Qu Zhixin!
