From November 22nd to December 3rd, the 2023 National Diving Championships, and Trials for Paris Olympic Games and Doha World Championships were held at the Wuhan Sports Center Natatorium. Wang Zongyuan, an undergraduate student of the class of 2020 from the WHSU's School of Sports Training, won two gold medals in the men's three-meter springboard diving and the men's synchronized three-meter springboard diving.

In the men's three-meter springboard final, Wang Zongyuan performed soundly with the highest total degree of difficulty, so that he was far ahead from the first jump. Especially, his third jump of 5156B was given a high score of 105.30 points, and his last jump of 109C was even better, at 108.30 points. He finally won the gold medal with a total score of 584.35 points.

In the men's synchronized three-meter springboard final, Wang Zongyuan and his teammate Long Daoyi won with a total score of 451.47 points, marking Wang Zongyuan's second gold medal in this championship. Wang Zongyuan and Long Daoyi topped the list from the first round and continued to lead the game. With the third dive, they won the highest score of the game at 83.64 points. Their continuous sound performance in the fourth, fifth, and sixth jumps finally secured them the gold medal.
Their next challenge would be the Paris Olympic Games. That must be a fierce top-level competition! Look forward to Wang Zongyuan's renewed outstanding performance there, to add glory to China and to WHSU.
