
On the afternoon of October 17, the Forum on High-quality Development of Sports Journals was held at the multi-functional hall of the gymnasium of Wuhan Sports University (WHSU). The event brought together prominent domestic experts and scholars in the field of sports science to engage in discussions on topics such as the role of sports science journals in academic guidance, the cultivation of refined academic styles, the significance of scholars in journal management, and the enhancement of academic services.

Lyu Wangang, President of WHSU, presided over the forum. He emphasized that as important fronts for fostering high-level journals, sports colleges and universities should accelerate the construction of the three systems of sports science with Chinese characteristics. This endeavor, aligned with the high-quality development of sports journals, aims to contribute to the construction of China's independent knowledge system and play a vital role in the grand vision of propelling China's path to modernization.
The experts delivered speeches under the theme of this forum, speaking highly of WHSU's efforts in developing high-level academic journals and promoting the disciplinary development of sports, and offering opinions: First, we should promote academic journals based on their features. Second, we should ensure rigorous quality control, recognizing it as the lifeblood of academic journals. Third, we should explore special columns on key fields. Fourth, we should offer support for disciplinary construction and promote the integration of disciplines. Fifth, we should strengthen academic contention and steer the trends of academic innovation. Sixth, we should gather talents and cultivate young scholars.
