As blossoming pomegranate flowers dance across Wuhan, united in spirit, we gathered at WHSU to shape our dream. The 2025 National Showcase of Outstanding Ethnic Minority Dance Works was held in the WHSU Art Museum's small theater on October 27. The event was co-organized by the Department of Culture and Publicity of the National Ethnic Affairs Commission (NEAC), the Department of the Arts of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism (MCT), the Ethnic and Religious Affairs Commission of Hubei Province, the Department of Culture and Tourism of Hubei Province, and the Wuhan Municipal Ethnic and Religious Affairs Commission. More than ten newly created national ethnic minority dance pieces from across the country were performed consecutively, offering a glimpse into the vibrant customs of various ethnic groups and narrating the profound bond of mutual support among all 56 ethnic groups. The captivating performances expressed the deep sentiment of "all ethnic groups in China are one family." Among the works featured was Rhythm of the Snowland, an ethnic fitness routine choreographed by WHSU School of Arts faculty members Wang Jingjing and Yang Xiaona.

Over 300 dancers channeled the power of dance to bring to life a vibrant scene where "all ethnic groups are closely united like the seeds of a pomegranate." The swirling skirts of the Tibetan dancers performing Between Heaven and Earth contrasted with the brisk steps of the Korean dancers in Rhythm of Joyful Drums, expressing a yearning for a beautiful life. In Daughter's Umbrella, the Yao people danced with raised umbrellas, the spinning rims embodying reverence for life. In Earnest Hope, dancers from different ethnic groups worked side-by-side to combat desertification, protecting their shared home.

The showcase was more than just an auditory and visual spectacle; it served as a lively educational lesson on ethnic unity and progress. Through the unique appeal of dance, the blending and mutual learning of various ethnic cultures were deepened, allowing the seeds of ethnic solidarity to take root in the hearts of both faculty and students. The event fully demonstrated WHSU's success in fostering aesthetic education and nurturing culture, while also providing fresh impetus to the development of campus culture and the forging of a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation.
