WHSU Hosts "Yonex Cup" 21st University Tennis Tournament of Hubei Province

The "Yonex Cup" 21st University Tennis Tournament of Hubei Province was held at Wuhan Sports University (WHSU) from November 15 to 16.

Hosted by the Hubei Sports Association of Students, executed by its Tennis Committee, and organized by WHSU, the event featured 13 categories across student and faculty groups. The tournament attracted 707 athletes from 41 higher education institutions across the province. Key additions this year included full photo and video live streaming coverage by professional media. Furthermore, organizers optimized the faculty team competition structure, integrated the "TISSYS Tennis Intelligent Service System" for technical support, and deployed over 120 umpires, volunteers, and operational personnel. With nearly 1,000 people participating in total, the tournament achieved a record-breaking scale.

Liu Yanbo, Vice President of the Hubei Sports Association of Students and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of WHSU, Pan Gaofeng, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of WHSU, along with representatives from the Hubei Sports Association of Students and sponsors, attended the opening ceremony.

Mr. Liu officially declared the tournament open.

The opening ceremony commenced with the solemn playing of the national anthem. Mr. Liu officially declared the tournament open, followed by Mr. Pan delivering a welcome speech on behalf of WHSU. In addition, representatives of the referees and athletes took an oath.

On the court, the competitors displayed excellent sportsmanship, high morale, and a fierce competitive spirit. Their cohesive teamwork highlighted their solid technical skills and exceptional athletic performance.

Following two days of intense competition, the WHSU team demonstrated exceptional effort and tenacity, securing a range of outstanding achievements. These included the championship titles in the Faculty Group A mixed doubles, Group B men's team, women's team, and Group D men's doubles. They also claimed second place in the Faculty Group B mixed team, Group B women's team, Group C men's team, women's team, and Group D women's doubles. Furthermore, WHSU earned third place in the Faculty Group C doubles, Faculty Group A men's team, University Group B men's team, Group C men's team, women's team, and Group D men's doubles.
