Recently, the Department of Education of Hubei Province announced the results of Outstanding Organization Award and “Three Excellent Awards and One Case” at the 8th College Students Art Festival of Hubei. WHSU won a cumulative total of 29 prizes with selected entries from teachers and students. Among them, there were 5 first prizes, 4 second prizes, 1 excellent prize and 1 excellent creation prize for excellent performance; 1 second prize, 2 third prizes and 6 excellent prizes for excellent works of fine arts; 2 first prizes, 1 second prize, 2 third prizes and 4 excellent prizes for Cases of Reform and Innovation of Aesthetic Education in Colleges and Universities. In addition, Wang Yanru, Chen Xi, Zeng Xunni, Zhu Lin, Li Fang, Tang Haiying, Xiao Ning, Xin Mengxia and Wang Donglin, were honored as excellent instructors.

The College Students Art Festival of Hubei, hosted by the Department of Education of Hubei Province and held once every three years, is an art event for college students with the highest specifications, largest scale and widest influence in Hubei Province. The theme of this year’s show was “keeping the country in mind and cultivating keen enterprise”. The event attracted 131 colleges and universities across the province to participate actively, with a total of 2,128 art works and more than 600 cases of reform and innovation of aesthetic education in colleges and universities taking part in the selection.

During the event, WHSU teachers and students insisted on guiding the public with high moral standards and enriching the mind with aesthetic education, formed the new situation of “one university with many brands” and fully demonstrated that contemporary college students move in the same direction as the times, progress with the motherland, keep the country in mind and strive to realize dreams, that they have ideas, dare to assume responsibility, and are hardworking and able to endure hardship, and that they pursue the beauty of mind, image, behavior and language.
