Before the Spring Festival, WHSU had been swept by freezing rain. This time, it was tested by graupel. Graupel is harder than snow, melts more slowly, and freezes more easily. As the new term is about to begin, the Party Committee of WHSU attached great importance to and actively deployed the work of removing graupel and ice. Staff members gathered again and quickly joined the team to shovel ice and snow pellets, going all out for the students to return to the campus safely.

On February 25, with the leadership team of the Party Committee of WHSU taking the lead, all departments and schools were mobilized. Over 200 teachers and students pitched into the work. The 14 teams were assigned areas they should be responsible for and actively cooperated to shovel snow pellets and ice from several main roads, sidewalks, teaching areas, living areas, etc. of the campus, and check for all kinds of potential safety hazards.

In order to quickly open up the roads for safe travel, WHSU mobilized winter service vehicles, hoes, shovels, snow-melting agents and other types of snow removal materials and equipment, and distributed them in an orderly manner to the hands of staff members. In the meantime, the students who returned to the campus in advance and the teachers and students of the School of Competitive Sports joined the team to remove snow pellets successively. Big equipment and small hoes worked together in the combat.

After a morning’s fight against snow pellets, main roads and road surfaces of teaching buildings, office buildings, dormitories, the family housing area, and other areas became basically clear. Preparations for the start of the new term are being carried out in order.
Ice is solid, but the will is stronger. WHSU people melted ice and snow with ardor and gave warmth in the cold winter with dedication.
