From June 4 to 7, the 2026 FISU World University Championship Cheerleading was held in Gothenburg, Sweden. Competing in the Pom Doubles event, WHSU's athletes delivered a flawless routine to win the silver medal, marking the best result the Chinese delegation has ever achieved in this event.

WHSU's swim team turned in a standout performance, picking up medals across multiple divisions. Shan Xinyu swept the women's 400m and 800m freestyle titles, breaking the meet record in both events. Li Xiaoting claimed both the women's 100m and 200m butterfly titles. Liu Jinyi took silver in the men's 400m individual medley and bronze in the men's 200m butterfly. The team also finished third in the women's Division C-B team standings and seventh in the overall Division C-B team standings.

The championships drew 1,085 athletes from 156 colleges and universities nationwide, reflecting both the scale of the event and the exceptionally high caliber of competition.
