From June 27 to 29, World Gymnastics staged the 2026 Aerobic Gymnastics Nanchang World Cup alongside the inaugural Nanchang International Aerobic Gymnastics Open. Representing WHSU was a joint delegation from the School of Arts, the School of Sports Training and the Graduate School, which came away with one gold medal, two silver medals and three fourth-place finishes.

Zhang Qingzhou took first place in Individual Men, ending a 14-year title drought for China in the event at the Aerobic Gymnastics World Cup and marking a historic breakthrough for the program.

Li Yuchen, Liang Bingqi and Zhu Mohan won silver in Trio, adult division.

Wang Wenhan, Dong Miaomiao, Huang Zixuan, Li Hanyun, Zhang Manqi, Liu Tengsinan, Pei Xinrui and Yang Ziyi took silver in Aerobic Dance, adult division.

Zhang Ying finished fourth in Individual Women.

Zhang Qingzhou and Huang Zheng placed fourth in Mixed Pair.

Wu Yankang finished fourth in Individual Men, adult division.

The event marked the first time the Aerobic Gymnastics World Cup had been held in China, drawing more than 300 athletes from over a dozen countries and regions, including France, Russia, Australia and Japan.
