
After four days of fierce competition, the 16th National Dragon and Lion Dance Championship successfully concluded on October 27 in Jiangyin, Jiangsu Province. Representing Hubei Province, the dragon dance team from WHSU earned an impressive haul of 5 golds, 3 silvers, and 2 bronzes.


On the competition field, WHSU’s athletes skillfully combined art and technique through their dragon dance performances, showcasing strong teamwork and fully embodying the spirit of WHSU’s students—tenacity, courage, perseverance, and a pioneering attitude.


As the most important event in the preparation cycle for the Dragon and Lion Dance competition at the 15th National Games of the People’s Republic of China, this championship was the largest in scale, the most professional, and featured the most comprehensive range of events. A total of 27 teams from provinces and cities across China, with nearly 1,900 athletes, participated. The competition included five major categories: dragon dance, southern lion dance, northern lion dance, ribbon dragon, and creative dragon and lion dance, with 18 sub-categories in total.
