
On the morning of July 19, in the Men’s Group D (Super Group) 4x100 meter relay final of the 22nd National University Athletics Championships, the relay team from WHSU’s School of Sports Training, consisting of Wang Yubin, Sun Peng, Yang Hanhui, and Tan Yuan, successfully defended their title and broke the National University Athletics Championships record.


During the competition, the athletes demonstrated outstanding speed and explosive power, as well as nearly perfect baton passing techniques. They finished first with a time of 39.66 seconds, breaking the seven-year-old record for this event, which was previously held by Tsinghua University (39.68 seconds).

Before the competition, Zhu Lei, a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of WHSU, visited the competition site to encourage and cheer for the student athletes.
The National University Athletics Championships is the largest and most widely participated event among the national individual centralized competitions. It is a national event to review the training results of university athletes and select athletic talent. This year’s championships saw a record high in both the number of participating institutions and athletes, with 5,285 athletes and coaches from 438 institutions across 30 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities competing.
