On the evening of October 8, the closing ceremony of the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou was held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. 39 students of the School of Arts of Wuhan Sports University (WHSU) participated in the performance for the closing ceremony. Through beautiful dance, they presented “Lotus and Osmanthus Coexistence” which symbolizes the harmonious blending of elements, and demonstrated the way to bid a farewell which Chinese people has inherited for thousands of years, leaving behind precious “memories of Hangzhou Asian Games” for Asian athletes and global audience in front of the screen.

The closing ceremony consisted of two programs - “Brilliant Together at This Time” and “The Lotus and Osmanthus Glow Together”, four short films - “Asian Games Gathering”, “Highlights of the Asian Games”, “Touching Moments of the Asian Games” and “The Most Memorable Thing Is Hangzhou”, and one carnival, presenting all the memories of the Asian Games.

WHSU students performed the only dance program “The Lotus and Osmanthus Glow Together”. The preparation began at Autumn Equinox and ended at Cold Dew. During more than 100 rehearsal days and nights, the leadership of the school attached great importance to the performance, special teachers provided guidance in the whole process, and each performer and the director team carefully polished the show. After repetitious practice, the performers finally showed the excellent professional skills and sunny spiritual outlook of WHSU students with a beautiful stage performance.

Develop sports to serve the country in the new era after forging ahead for 70 years. WHSU students showed the vibrancy of Chinese youth in the new era with their perfect performance on the Asian Games stage, and offered a special gift for the upcoming 70th anniversary of WHSU.
