Delegation from Senegal's Dakar Engineering University visits our university for an exchange

On the afternoon of September 24, a delegation led by Abdoulaye Yare Fall, President of Dakar Engineering University in Senegal, visited our university for an exchange. Accompanying the delegation were Abdoulaye Malick Faye Fall, Special Advisor for International Cooperation and Strategic Partnerships to the President of the Senegalese Gymnastics Federation; Marieme Fatou Drame, a journalist from Senegal's newspaper Le Soleil and the Gymnastics Federation; and gymnast Sokhna Anta Ndiack Fall. Participating in the meeting were Zhu Lei, Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee and Vice President of WHSU, and heads of relevant departments including the Development Planning and Discipline Construction Office, School of Physical Education, Scientific Research Department, Office of International Exchange, School of Continuing Education, and Gymnastics Teaching and Research Office.

Mr. Zhu Lei extended a warm welcome to the delegation before introducing our university's achievements in discipline construction, competitive sports, and international cooperation. He emphasized the university's consistent commitment to open education and expressed anticipation for practical cooperation with the Senegalese partner in physical education, training research, and talent development. He also voiced hope for substantial progress in gymnastics collaboration, talent cultivation, and academic exchanges, thereby injecting new momentum into deepening China-Africa cultural and sports cooperation.

Abdoulaye Yare Fall expressed gratitude for the warm reception and introduced Senegal's initiatives to promote gymnastics participation and develop young athletes. He also stated their hope to learn from WHSU’s experience in establishing gymnastics training systems, and to engage in in-depth cooperation in sports training, injury prevention, and coach development, so as to help Senegal achieve greater progress in gymnastics.

Both sides also exchanged in-depth views on topics including language requirements for studying in China and jointly establishing collaborative laboratories.
