From October 11 to 13, 2024, the International Academic Conference on Advanced Exercise and Health Science was successfully held at the Wuhan Sports University (WHSU). Under the theme of “Innovative Sports, Smart Health,” the conference aimed to bring together top global experts, scholars, and researchers to discuss the latest advances in sports science, and to promote innovation and development in the field of exercise and health science. The conference was hosted by the journal publisher, the School of Sports Medicine of WHSU, and the Key Laboratory of Sports Training Monitoring in Hubei Province.

The conference officially opened on the morning of October 12. Professor Lyu Wangang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of WHSU, and Editor-in-Chief of the English journal Advanced Exercise and Health Science (AEHS), delivered the welcome address. On behalf of WHSU, he extended a warm welcome and sincere thanks to the attending experts, young scholars, and postgraduate students. Lyu stated that with the deep implementation of the Healthy China initiative and the growing popularity of nationwide fitness campaigns, the field of exercise and health science is entering an era of unprecedented opportunity. He expressed hope that this conference would inspire new ideas and creativity, further driving innovation and development in the field.

The opening ceremony was chaired by Professor Wang Zhiqiang, Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee and Vice President of WHSU.

Professor Andrew McAinch, Editor-in-Chief of AEHS and from Victoria University in Australia, delivered a speech, congratulating the successful opening of the conference and expressing optimism for future breakthroughs in the field of exercise and health science.
The conference specially invited prominent scholars, including Professor Su Guohui, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Director of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Institute of CNS Regeneration (GHMICR), Jinan University, and Professor Hu Min, President of the Guangzhou Sport University. Other experts and scholars from renowned universities and research institutions in Australia, Canada, Belgium, the United Kingdom, France, Switzerland, Germany, and beyond also gathered to discuss and exchange insights on the latest developments and research outcomes in the field of exercise and health science.

The conference was divided into two venues with a poster exchange area, featuring 33 special topic presentations, 33 youth presentations, and 42 poster sessions. More than 300 experts, scholars, young faculty members, and postgraduate students attended the event, creating a vibrant academic atmosphere with lively discussions.

The conference was conducted in a hybrid format, with both in-person and live-streamed sessions available to a global audience. The outstanding presentations by the experts captured the attention of many researchers and scholars, with the live broadcast attracting nearly 130,000 views worldwide.
