On the morning of May 23, 2024, a delegation from the French People’s Aid visited WHSU to explore the world of traditional Chinese sports and participate in an exchange program. This visit served as a preliminary exploration for the upcoming Sino-French Youth Cultural Exchange Activities scheduled for this summer. Officials from Secretariat of Hubei Provincial People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Division of European and African Affairs, and Division of Consular Affairs of the Hubei Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, along with representatives from WHSU’s International Exchange Office, graciously accompanied the delegation throughout their exchange.

The School of Martial Arts treated the French guests to a mesmerizing spectacle of martial arts and qigong performances. Accompanied by the rousing rhythm of powerful drumbeat music, four lions leaped with grace, a silver dragon soared through the air with agility, and the unpredictable Form-Intention Boxing left the audience spellbound. A flowing martial arts demonstration earned thunderous applause from the delegation members.

Subsequently, the delegation embarked on a tour of WHSU’s impressive facilities, including the rock climbing training hall, the constant temperature swimming pool, and the water training base. They observed a rock climbing course in action and experienced the thrill of rock climbing. Moreover, they joined students from the WHSU’s Dragon Boat and Paddleboard Association for a dragon boat racing experience.

Throughout the exchange, the French delegation members exhibited a keen interest in traditional Chinese sports. They expressed their willingness to invite more international friends to China to learn about Chinese sports culture.
