Recently, several national departments, including the Ministry of Education and the General Administration of Sport of China, jointly announced the “Decision on Recognizing Outstanding Teams and Individuals at the 31st FISU World University Games”. WHSU’s Training and Competition Department received the title of “Outstanding Team at the 31st FISU World University Games”. Notably, the department is the sole recipient from Hubei Province that won the award.

The 31st FISU World University Games were held in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, from July 28 to August 8. Nine WHSU students were selected to represent the Chinese delegation across a range of sports, including basketball, gymnastics, diving, rowing, and taekwondo. Their exceptional performance led to remarkable accomplishments, securing 6 championship titles, 8 gold medals, 2 silver medals, and 4 bronze medals for the Chinese delegation. The Training and Competition Department spared no effort in providing coordinated management and supporting services for the WHSU athletes, particularly in the areas of training, competition, and research. Their efforts contributed to the Chinese delegation’s achievement of excellent results.
