On the morning of April 18, the completion ceremony for the postgraduate dormitory project was held in the university. The ceremony was witnessed by leaders of WHSU including Chen Jiping, Secretary of the Party Committee, Lyu Wangang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President, Zhu Jianzhong, Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission and Inspector of Hubei Provincial Supervisory Commission to WHSU, and Zhu Lei, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President, and presided over by Liu Yanbo, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President.

At the ceremony, Chen Jiping and Lyu Wangang unveiled the plaque for the new postgraduate dormitory.

On behalf of WHSU, Lyu Wangang delivered his sincerest thanks to the leaders, engineers, technicians, management and front-line workers of all the units having participated in the project construction for their great efforts. He stated that the successful completion of the postgraduate dormitory project was an exhilarating milestone that the faculty and students of the university are all concerned about. The use of dormitory will further increase the number of beds for students, and beautify the layout of campus buildings and the campus environment. WHSU will keep on implementing the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, determinedly building first-class disciplines, continuously improving school-running conditions, and upgrading comprehensive school-running strength, to contribute our wisdom and strength to the development of China's education and sports undertakings in the new era.

After the ceremony, the leaders and guests visited the postgraduate dormitory together.

The postgraduate dormitory is an important campus construction project and livelihood project during the 14th Five-Year Plan period of WHSU. Under the joint efforts of multiple departments of WHSU and the participating parties, the postgraduate dormitory project commenced construction in July 2022, and was completed after ten months on the 70th anniversary of the founding of the university. The postgraduate dormitory is designed to accommodate postdoctoral researchers, doctoral students and some postgraduate students of the university, to soundly solve the bottleneck problem of lack of enough beds in the postgraduate dormitory.

The ceremony was also attended by persons in charge of relevant functional departments of WHSU, and representatives of Shanxi Sanjian Group Co., Ltd., CITIC General Institute of Architectural Design and Research Co., Ltd., Wuhan Survey and Design Institute Co., Ltd., and Wuhan Jiangcheng Construction Consulting Co., Ltd.
