On the evening of April 26, WHSU held the College Student Chorus Competition and May Fourth Commendation Conference for 2022 in front of the Administration Building. The event is themed on "Forging Ahead for 70 Years and Embracing a New Era of Serving the Country with Sports", and aimed at studying and implementing President Xi Jinping's thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era.
The event was witnessed by Chen Jiping, Secretary of the Party Committee of WHSU, Lyu Wangang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President, Zhang Biao, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President, Zhu Jianzhong, Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission, Inspector of Hubei Provincial Supervisory Commission to Wuhan Sports University, Wang Zhiqiang, Liu Yanbo, and Pan Gaofeng, members of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice Presidents, and attended by heads of relevant departments, heads of secondary schools, and representatives of students and the faculty.
At the conference, WHSU leaders presented awards to the Advanced Individuals and Collectives of the Communist Youth League System in 2022.
Chen Jiping conferred awards to the May Forth Red Flag Youth League Committee.
Lyu Wangang presented awards to the Outstanding Cadres (Teachers) of the Communist Youth League.
Zhang Biao conferred awards to representatives of the Advanced Collectives of the May Fourth Red Flag Youth League Branch
Zhu Jianzhong and Wang Zhiqiang presented awards to the Top Ten Communist Youth League Cadres.
Liu Yanbo and Pan Gaofeng presented awards to the Top Ten Communist Youth League Members.
A total of 11 teams participated in this chorus competition. Each team sang the prescribed song "Towards the Rejuvenation" and an optional song in turn. After the singing, the judges gave a comprehensive score, based on which the awards were determined. The five judges in this competition were all specially invited external professional music teachers.
