On September 24, the men's lightweight double sculls competition kicked off on time, where Fan Junjie, a 2020 master's student at the School of Competitive Sports, WHSU, and Sun Man, a jointly trained athlete of WHSU, formed a perfect team, and won the championship with a timing of 6:23:16.

They took the lead early in the race, 1.8 seconds faster than the second-place Indian team at the 1,000-meter distance, and even 3 seconds faster than the other teams. For the sprint, they finished the race in first place under great pressure, winning the second gold medal for the Chinese rowing team.
